Galileo Initial Services <ref name="Galileo Initial Services in GSA website">[http://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/space/galileo_en Galileo Initial Services in GSA website]</ref> are the first step towards the Full Operational Capability. These Initial services were declared at the end of 2016 and at that moment, Galileo officially moved from a testing phase to the provision of live services. The initial services offered by Galileo are Open Service (OS), the Public Regulated Service (PRS) and the Search and Rescue (SAR) service. The performance of Galileo will gradually improve as additional services are added to the constellation.
